Ermitage International School offers two levels of equestrian programmes for students who wish to combine academic studies with professional riding training. Students can participate in weekly riding lessons, enjoy horse riding along forest trails and take part in competitions across France. They can either bring their own horses or benefit from the school's horse rental options.
- The programme is available to students from Year 7 to Year 12, with weekly training intensity varying according to the selected level, and opportunities to participate in 5–11 competitions per year.
Maisons-Laffitte is known as the “city of the horse.” The town’s racecourse and training stables keep this tradition alive today. Its most important landmark is the Château de Maisons, built in the 17th century by the architect François Mansart and regarded as a masterpiece of classical French architecture. In the 19th century, the banker Jacques Laffitte divided the château’s estate into plots, creating the large, tree-lined park that now forms the town’s distinctive residential area. The walking paths along the Seine and the nearby Forêt de Saint-Germain-en-Laye also give students a safe environment close to nature.
The location is also convenient for getting around: suburban trains (RER A and Transilien) reach central Paris in about 20 to 25 minutes. Students can enjoy the calm of a small town while easily taking advantage of the cultural and artistic opportunities Paris has to offer.
