Botany Downs Secondary College is a large, multicultural, co-educational state school located in East Auckland, New Zealand. Serving students from Year 9 to Year 13 (ages 13 to 18), the college has approximately 2,000 students and 200 staff, forming a dynamic and diverse school community.

Botany Downs Secondary College follows the national curriculum framework overseen by NZQA (the New Zealand Qualifications Authority). Within this framework, students in Years 10 to 13 can choose subjects from English and Arts, Mathematics and Science, Social Sciences, Business, Languages, and Technology.
In Years 9, 10 and 11, students are assessed throughout the year. In Years 12 and 13, they work towards NCEA (National Certificate of Educational Achievement), New Zealand’s national qualification. Various international agreements ensure that NCEA results are understood and accepted abroad. NZQA qualifications are recognised in the European Union (including the United Kingdom and Germany), Australia, Thailand and India.
